About me

Well, susiside being out of the question, I guess I'm gonna have to work harder.  I mean, the problem with the economy must be that I'm just not working, and contributing enough.  So tomorrow I'm gonna go get two more jobs (I retired six months ago and I thought I was ready - but...).  I'm gonna work hard enough to earn a lot of money for Uncle Sugar.  I worked two jobs for most of my 40-year career and contributed a healthy amount of "my earnings" to retirement.  Surely I must have enough nest-egg to see me through the Golden Years - NOT!  So back to the grind-stone.

I first suspected trouble two years ago when congress made such a big deal out of raising the minimum wage.  I knew that would cause a major problem with employment (unemployment) and inflation, but since I was nearing retirement, what the heck.  The law did cause major inflation immediately but the unemployment didn't start to kick in until a full quarter after the first phase of the wage increases. And, man did it kick in!

So when they say the housing crash caused the current downturn, they just mask the fact that they fucked up with the minimum wage thing.  Okay, which came first: the chicken or the egg?  Then which came first the housing crash or unemployment boom?  Well, why were people unable to make morgage payments?  NO FREAKING JOB!  Why no job?  Cuz the company had to let two of their twelve employees go in order to stay in business - just because of the minimum wage increase.  It happened in every industry because the labor expense of just a few industries will affect the selling or market price of all products and services across all industries.  Now, the poor smuck who was just barely able to make ends meet while working for minimum wage can no longer do so - government induced inflation!

Well, as you already know, my retirement funds are gone and I still have to make this morgage payment.  So no retirement for me, or taxes for the man, unless I get a couple jobs - again
